Glass point holders—also known as point holders—secure a glass pane at individual, point-like contact points rather than using continuous profiles or clamping strips. The pane is secured to the Bracket by screwing it through a hole drilled in the glass. This creates a particularly transparent, delicate appearance in which the glazing takes center stage and the mounting remains visually unobtrusive. Typical applications include balustrades, Canopies, partition walls, privacy glazing, and signage glazing.
At its core, a glass point holder consists of an upper part and a lower part that grip the pane on both sides, as well as two EPDM rubber pads that securely and gently cradle the glass without any play. A threaded pin (or screw) connects the upper and lower parts and simultaneously secures the holder to the substructure.
Depending on the size, different mounting options are available: the flat bracket for assembly on a level surface, as well as tube connections for attachment to round tubes (e.g., Ø 33.7 / Ø 42.4 / Ø 48.3 mm). This allows the bracket to be used both on walls and directly on posts and tubes.
The round glass point holders range from Ø 16 mm (sign holder) through Ø 30, Ø 40, Ø 52, Ø 62 to Ø 72 mm; square designs (63×63 and 63×78 mm) are also available. Smaller brackets are suitable for lighter glazing and signs, while larger brackets are designed for thicker glass and more demanding applications. The permissible clamping range increases with the size—from 4.0–8.0 mm for the Ø 16 mm model to 8.0–25.52 mm for the larger glass point holders.
If the glazing is to be part of a fall-protection structure, a certificate of suitability is required. Feldmann offers glass point holders with a General Building Inspection Test Certificate (AbP) in the sizes Ø 52, Ø 52 (adjustable), Ø 62, Ø 72, as well as in the square designs 63×63 and 63×78 mm.
The brackets are available in V2A (AISI 304, for indoor and outdoor use) and, for several sizes, also in V4A (AISI 316 (1.4401/04), higher corrosion resistance), each with a polished finish (K240). Select designs are available in RAL 9005 (matte black, Powder coated). For the 30 mm diameter, Die-cast zinc (raw) and a design with a Stainless steel effect (clear-coated, indoor use only) are also available.
